Everyone should be able to search for a home and get in touch with us. We work to make this website usable for people of all abilities.

Our commitment

Hector Torres Real Estate is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we review the site as it changes.

What we have done

  • Semantic page structure with clear headings, landmarks and a consistent navigation order
  • Full keyboard access to links, forms, menus and the accessibility menu, with visible focus indicators
  • Text and background colors chosen for strong contrast
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images
  • Labeled form fields with clear error messages on the contact form
  • A responsive layout that works on phones, tablets and desktops, and when text is enlarged
  • Respect for your device setting to reduce motion

The accessibility menu

The round accessibility button in the bottom left corner of every page opens a menu of adjustments. You can also open it from the keyboard with Ctrl + U, and close it with Escape. Available options include:

  • Profiles for low vision, dyslexia, motor impairments, ADHD, seizure safety and cognitive needs
  • Bigger text, wider text spacing, taller line height and left-aligned text
  • A more readable font
  • High contrast and dark contrast, plus reduced or monochrome color saturation
  • Highlighted links, a page structure overlay and a larger cursor
  • Hide images and pause animations
  • Read aloud, which speaks selected text or the page using your browser's built-in voice

Your choices are saved on your own device so they persist between visits. Use Reset all settings in the menu to return to the default view. The menu complements, and does not replace, the assistive technology you already use.

Known limitations

We are always improving, and some areas may not yet be fully accessible:

  • The interactive map on the listings page relies on third-party map software that can be difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader. The same listings are available as a list beside the map.
  • Some photographs are illustrative and described in general terms rather than in detail.
  • Content provided by third parties may not meet the same standards.
